Mirabeau La Folie Rosé, £10.99 (normally £13.99), Waitrose MADE by the team behind the popular Provence rosé of the same name, this is its first foray into bubbles. It’s a party fizz with light red fruits and a twist of citrus.

WHITE WINE

Vandenberg Chardonnay 2018, £10, Co-op NEW and exclusive to the Co-op, this Chardonnay from South Australia’s Adelaide Hills region has a buttery character. The wine is aged with French oak, giving it more oomph. Perfect on chilly nights.

FOOD PAIRING: Chicken pie.

RED WINE

Errazuriz Estate Series Pinot Noir 2016, £9.99, Majestic THIS is from Northern Chile, the Aconcagua Valley vineyards, where the cool nights and hot days bring out fruitiness in the grapes. This has spicy, smoky redcurrant and cherry fruit flavours with real freshness.

SPIRIT

Rock Rose Gin 70cl, £35, Sainsbury’s CREATED by husband-and-wife team Martin and Claire Murray, this gin is made with 18 botanicals at their distillery in Dunnet Bay, Caithness. There’s juniper on the aroma, plus a floral twist from rose root. Clean, crisp and deliciously refreshing.

FOOD PAIRING: Salted peanuts.
