Second victim: I had to let rapist meet my child

-

A WOMAN made pregnant at 15 after being attacked by a grooming gang told yesterday how she was ordered to let her rapist see her son.

The 48-year-old was targeted as a teenager by a man who allegedly belonged to a notorious child exploitation ring in Telford, Shropshire.

She was repeatedly raped and, after having his child, was forced to sit with from her abuser, who the courts said had a right to see her toddler.

The woman, who does not want to be named, said she was terrified she would go to prison for contempt of court if she refused.

She spoke out just days after another grooming victim, Sammy Woodhouse, 33, went public with Rotherham council’s attempts to allow her rapist, Arshid Hussain, 43, access to her son.

The woman said the authorities allowed her rapist access when he asked for contact when the child was three. He lost interest and the contact fizzled out when the boy was seven.

She said: ‘He wanted to hurt me by targeting the thing I loved most in the world. I was told I would be held in contempt and arrested if I didn’t take him to the contact centre.’

Up to 1,000 children may have been victims of sexual exploitation in Telford dating back to the Eighties. In 2013, seven local Pakistani men were sentenced to a total of almost 60 years in prison. Shropshire council, which ran Telford social services at the time, declined to comment.
