HS2 chief: I’m waiting for the sack

-

THE chairman of HS2 has confirmed he expects to be sacked after only four months in the job.

Sir Terry Morgan said there was disappointment at Westminster about delays to London’s £15billion Crossrail project, of which he is also chairman. He told the BBC he was expecting his dismissal to ‘be confirmed more formally in the next few days’.

It came as the high-speed rail company is facing fresh questions over its £56billion budget after it admitted it has not included the full costs of running trains.

The Bramley HS2 action group found the firm had failed to include the extra costs of upgrading a line that will allow trains to travel from Sheffield to Leeds.
