TED BAKER SALES HIT BY HOUSE OF FRASER WOES
TED Baker is expected to post disappointing sales this week as it gears up for the critical festive period.
Analysts believe that pressures on the High Street and persistent uncertainty surrounding Brexit will see the fashion chain post subdued results. Ted Baker is also having to cope with the fallout of the collapse of House of Fraser, where it has a string of concessions.
Analysts at Peel Hunt said: ‘With disruption in the department store concessions at House of Fraser, coupled with continued warm weather into November, we feel that numbers remain under pressure.’
Caroline Gulliver, analyst at broker Jefferies, added: ‘After a subdued first-half performance we do not expect much relief in quarter three, given unseasonably warm temperatures.’
Sales at Ted Baker are tipped to rise 5pc in the third quarter, compared with 8pc growth during the same period a year earlier.
It comes amid a scandal embroiling Ted Baker’s chief executive and founder Ray Kelvin.
A petition signed by female staff accuses the 62-year-old businessman of inappropriate behaviour, such as forcing them to hug him and stroking their necks.
