FA MUST LAY £500k PITCH AT WEMBLEY FOR EUROS

THE FA have had to provide assurances to UEFA that they will install a new £500,000 pitch at Wembley for Euro 2020. The national stadium will host seven games at the Euros, but there have been problems with the playing surface after an Anthony Joshua fight and three American football games in the space of five weeks — in addition to Tottenham’s residency. UEFA events chief executive Martin Kallen said: ‘Three months ago we would not have worried about it all. However, we met with the staff at Wembley and they have said they will install a brand new pitch before the Euro 2020 finals.’
