BOXING’S VERDICT

- Compiled by Janine Self

LENNOX LEWIS

This judging takes me back to my first fight with Holyfield. Just goes to show how hard it is for a Brit to come to America and take someone’s belt even though that’s what we clearly saw. Big up to Tyson Fury who never ceases to amaze me. Hold your head high. They need to get some good judges, these judges were terrible. It happened to me and I knew it was going to happen to him. Everybody could see who won. Boxing definitely won and Tyson Fury won the fight to me. But that’s why you’ve got to go in and try and knock the other person out, especially if you’re not on home soil. You’ve got to make your fists be the judges.

MANNY PACQUIAO

Respect to Fury for sticking to his game plan and to Wilder for closing the gap with two huge knockdowns! Can’t wait to see the rematch.

GEORGE FOREMAN

Wilder brought the fight all night. Fury did a great job but he didn’t win tonight. Stop indoctrinating. We see what we see.

AMIR KHAN

What a fight. Wilder v Fury has to be up there as one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve seen. Well done — well deserved. Enjoy Christmas.

PROMOTER FRANK WARREN

It is a draw but everyone knows Fury won it and we will want to do a rematch. How could a fight like this not be a rematch? It is unfinished business. In Britain that is an 80,000 job. Vegas will be drooling for this. When was the last time you saw a great fight in the USA?

TYSON FURY’S TRAINER BEN DAVISON

I told Tyson before the fight he would beat him with his left hand. We didn’t come here for money to get through the fight, we came here to win and I’m sick and gutted.

NBA STAR LEBRON JAMES

Man that was the funniest/craziest fight I’ve ever seen in my life... what the hell just happened?
