Beating drop will be Dyche’s toughest test

-

FORGET finishing seventh. If Sean Dyche keeps Burnley in the Premier League this season, it will be his biggest achievement at the club. Burnley have won just four of their 21 matches in all competitions. Having started their campaign in July with Europa League qualifiers, they look like they are running on empty. Even Dyche himself has admitted his players have lost the ‘eye of the tiger’. His team have had just 34 shots on target, the fewest of any team in the league. When they create so few chances, they simply cannot afford to concede so many goals. It does not get any easier with Liverpool visiting Turf Moor on Wednesday with trips to Tottenham and Arsenal to follow. Unless Dyche can tighten up the defence, relegation remains a worrying possibility.
