Phone giants to block scam banking texts

TELECOMS giants are trialling a system to block scam text messages in a bid to combat rising banking fraud.

In a victory for MoneyMail’s Stop the Bank Scammers campaign, the new ‘anti-spoofing’ system should stop fraudulent texts appearing in the same chain as genuine messages from their banks.

This is a common tactic used by fraudsters to convince victims that the scam message is legitimate.
