President of Nigeria: No, I’m not dead
REPORTS of the Nigerian president’s death appear to have been greatly exaggerated.
Muhammadu Buhari, 76, confirmed he is alive and well yesterday following claims he has been replaced with a body double. Speaking in Poland, where he is attending the UN’s climate change summit, he told Nigerians: ‘It is the real me, I assure you.’
Rumours of Buhari’s demise began last year, when he spent seven weeks in London for medical treatment. Conspiracy theorists claimed a lookalike from Sudan had been called in to replace the president, who was elected in 2015.
