COR BLIMEY — IT’S DICK VAN DYKE!

HIS Cockney accent as Bert the chimney sweep has gone down in movie history for all the wrong reasons.

But in the first film Dick Van Dyke also played doddery banker Mr Dawes Sr. Now the 92-year-old star comes as close as he can to reprising the role, playing Mr Dawes’s son (left), who is a similar age.

Van Dyke spent two days on the set of the film, often bringing cast members to tears by singing snippets of the original songs.
