Blow for Neville on eve of Women’s World Cup draw
ENGLAND will discover their Women’s World Cup fate today when the draw for next summer’s tournament is made in Paris. Phil Neville’s team are ranked fourth, behind the USA, Germany and hosts France. Those four feature as top seeds, alongside Canada and Australia, with 24 teams to be drawn into six groups of four. Neville, who learned yesterday star midfielder Jordan Nobbs (above) is out of the tournament with cruciate ligament damage, will take England to the SheBelieves Cup in America early next year, where they play the USA, Brazil and Japan. Before that, he intends to take the squad on a warm weather training camp. If England finish as one of the top three UEFA nations in France, it will also act as qualification for a Team GB side to compete at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. TV: The Women’s World Cup draw is LIVE on BBC2 at 5pm.
