WHO’S CAUGHT MY EYE... MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE

I have been talking him up to anyone who will listen to me since Stoke played Wolves in a pre-season friendly and I am not going to stop. This young boy plays and passes with the composure of a veteran. he’s going places fast.

NEXT UP FOR ME...

aWay from the pitch, I’m looking forward to nextt ThThursdayd night.iht LiLiam gallagher is performing a stripped-back show at Union Chapel in London and I’m lucky to have a ticket. There’s never a bad time to see Liam and I’ll be singing along, that’s for certain!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO...

We’ve been getting into the Christmas spirit and it’s all about the old favourites at the minute. I gave a marvellous rendition of Last Christmas in the car the other morning and I’ve been helping my daughter with her Christmas carols, as I have the voice of an angel.

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO...

ShoppIng! With no game in midweek, I thought I’d try and get ahead with lists for presents. how successful I have been, though, remains to be seen. Usually I get it hopelessly wrong. The worst thing about it is, I only have abbey to buy for — she does the rest! IT WAS a joy to watch Manchester City again on Tuesday. I said four weeks ago that I can see them going through the season unbeaten and the odds on that feat occurring will be slashed dramatically if they get past Chelsea tomorrow. The way they saw off Watford was so impressive and one man who stood out was Riyad Mahrez. I knew he was a top player at Leicester but didn’t see how he would make a difference to City’s team after they paid £60million for him. However, he was glorious at Vicarage Road. Like so many others who have joined City, his level has gone up because of working with Pep Guardiola. Watford is a tough place to go but, with the exception of the sticky last 10 minutes, they made it look straightforward and I cannot see how they will be stopped. You can only imagine how Liverpool feel. This is the best team I have seen come out of Anfield in 20 years and it looks like they are going to come up short. Everything is set up for a huge game between City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on January 3.
