Chicken nativity is a real turkey

Christians are dismayed because only a third of schools will put on a traditional nativity play this year.

in one, the ox and ass by the manger have been replaced with morrisdancing chickens.

all well and good, but are the chickens free- range rather than battery? Were they from a vegan-approved rest home for chickens or destined to end up on festive platters? and is making chickens dance with handkerchiefs and bells strapped to their legs an unpardonable act of animal cruelty?

sorry, but if you abandon the Christian story, you open up a PC minefield!
