4 Weddings and... a star role for Hugh’s screen daughter Lily
WE already know Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell and John Hannah are reprising their roles.
But there’s a notable new addition to the Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion – Lily James. The Downton Abbey actress, 29, seems to have a starring role in the 12minute Comic Relief special, as she was spotted in a wedding dress during filming.
She is believed to be playing the daughter of Hugh Grant’s character Charles, who wore a dapper check suit for church scenes in which he gave her away.
Fans have waited nearly 25 years for a sequel to the 1994 rom- com. Its writer Richard Curtis brought the cast back together for the charity special, which will air on March 15 next year. US actress Miss MacDowell, 60, who was Grant’s love interest in the original, was also spotted dressed up for the occasion alongside costar Hannah, 56.
Leading man Grant, 58, was also joined by other Four Weddings veterans, including David Haig, Kristin Scott Thomas, James Fleet and Anna Chancellor – who played jilted bride ‘Duckface’ in the original.
Susanna Reid, the host of ITV’s Good Morning Britain, was also seen on set – apparently as an extra.
