UK ATHLETICS CHIEF SET TO BE VOTED OUT
RICHARD BOWKER’S troubled tenure as chairman of UK Athletics appeared to be drawing to a close last night after the members’ council launched a process for a vote on his future. Senior figures at a governing body split by political in-fighting had pushed for a vote at a tense AGM yesterday if Bowker refused to stand down. But the vote was blocked because they have to give 28 days’ notice, so the response to that was to do that yesterday. If Bowker remains defiant, it seems almost certain he will be voted out of power next month. Sportsmail understands the Members’ Council has formally told the UKA board it has no confidence in Bowker.
