Woman, 19, ‘murdered at Christmas’

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 19-year-old woman was found dead yesterday.

Emergency services were called at 1.18pm to a property in Maidstone, Kent, a spokesman for Kent Police said.

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that the unnamed teenager was dead, although the cause of death has not been revealed.

The 27-year-old local man, who is believed to have been known to the woman, was arrested and was last night being held in police custody while police investigate her death.

■ Two 15-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of a Portuguese boxer stabbed to death in north London.

Wilham Mendes, 25, was found with multiple stab wounds in Tottenham at 1.20am on Saturday. He was pronounced dead in hospital an hour later.
