Could huntress in island slaughter face gun charge?
THE self- styled ‘Hardcore Huntress’, who proudly posted pictures of herself beside the bodies of sheep and goats she had shot, is being investigated by police.
American TV host Larysa Switlyk had been on a twoweek hunting trip to Islay, a remote Scottish island, when she tweeted the images.
The 33-year-old’s thirst for blood – she labelled one picture of a goat ‘such a fun hunt’ – prompted condemnation online. Though shooting goats and deer is legal, Police Scotland confirmed yesterday that a man and woman are suspected of committing gun offences.
‘Following several complaints of wild goat trophy hunting on Islay in September... a 33-year- old woman and a 41-year-old man from the USA have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for firearms offences,’ a statement said.
Miss Switlyk, a former accountant, and her hunting partner, known only as Jason, had been filming their Scottish safari.
She boasted of having ‘the time of her life’, making a ‘perfect 200-yard shot’ for one kill and hunting ‘ in sniper mode’. It led to outcry from celebrities including Judy Murray, Ricky Gervais and Gabby Logan.
