‘LIVING coral’, Pantone’s colour of 2019, should dominate makeup counters this year — featuring in everything from eyeshadows to lipsticks and blushers.

‘Many women can be nervous about using a coral tone as the colour can look so bright, but the effect is subtler,’ says makeup artist Rupert Kingston.

Fairer skin tones need a pinky coral, such as Maybelline’s light and creamy Dream Matte Blush in Coy Coral (below right, £5.49,

superdrug.com). For more olive skin tones, brighter shades work best, such as Delilah Colour Blush in Clementine (below left, £26, spacenk.com). Rupert’s top tip for application is to smile, then dab on the outside of the apples of the cheek, before blending back.
