Mansfield blow after Bishop’s tunnel dust-up

- TOM FARMERY

ANOTHER week, another unbeaten record smashed, and at a huge cost to

MANSFIELD. David Flitcroft’s side were the last team in the top four divisions unbeaten away from home before their trip to CARLISLE. That 17-game run had helped them to third in the table and they were aiming to overtake second-placed MK Dons with Paul Tisdale’s side not in action. But Mansfield went down 3-2 at Brunton Park after playing the second half with 10 men. Neal Bishop had been dismissed for a second yellow card as the players clashed in the tunnel at half-time. Jack Sowerby and Hallam Hope gave Carlisle the lead before Matt Preston pulled one back for Mansfield. Hope added his second before Tyler Walker scored for Mansfield with four minutes to play.

BURY won 1-0 at YEOVIL. Nicky Maynard’s first-half strike was enough to move Ryan Lowe’s side up to third spot.

NOTTS COUNTY missed an opportunity to move off the foot of the table after being pegged back from 3-1 to 3-3 at COLCHESTER. Sol Campbell’s

MACCLESFIELD stay second-bottom, level on points with County, after losing 2-1 at home to SWINDON. CHELTENHAM’S poor form continued with a 1-0 defeat at CRAWLEY.
