So that’s how Jane looks like this at 67

A £40 secret ‘anti-crepe’ cream. Special stretches on a wall. Just one spoonful of dessert — and strictly no more than four Maltesers at a time ...

AN IRON-CLAD confidence is surely needed to join the ranks of the Instagram bikini boasters — especially when you are closer to your 70th birthday than your 60th.

But actress Jane Seymour, 67 and a mother of four, has done just that.

Wearing a swimsuit, with a floppy hat and sunglasses, she has been striking poses on beaches in Greece, France and Hawaii, as well as on the sands at Malibu, California, where she lives, on social media.

Maybe there is some flattering filtering at work, but Ms Seymour looks utterly radiant.

Her jawline is impeccable and her skin unlined. there isn’t a hint of cellulite, thread veins or bagginess. Her tummy is as flat as a teenager’s. Her hair is a crowning glory.

of the sadness wrought by four failed marriages, there is not a trace. Instead she is cuddling up to her new beau, British film producer david Green, 67, and plugging her new book, new TV show and new beauty cream like all the other Insta-stars who could, truly, be her grandchildren. Indeed, thanks to her business ventures, she is worth £45 million — very nearly as much as her live And let die co-star roger Moore, who died in 2017, was worth.

Her loveliness has made her bankable indeed, with skincare, jewellery and clothes ranges, numerous self-help books and the plugging of everything from perfume to pistachios. And with the advent of Instagram, there’s a new way to show the world how gorgeous you are.

Ms Seymour, who started out as plain Joyce Frankenberg in suburban Hillingdon, has a devotion to looking good which she has turned into a greater money-spinner than any of her film roles.

So how on earth has she done it? Alison Boshoff reveals all . . .

BABY WASH TO SOOTHE HER EYES

WITH one brown and one green eye, Jane often has to wear a contact lens when she takes on acting jobs. She admits to having had surgery both above and below her eyes.

She confirmed last year that she’d had her eyes done: ‘It was years ago. I was asked by photographers if I’d consider getting them done because they spent so much time touching up pictures. It wasn’t a big deal. I went out for lunch the day after the surgery.’

In an interview in 2014 she described the surgery as ‘minor’. She insists on taking off her make-up every night and uses Johnson and Johnson’s baby wash, using a cotton bud around her eyelids.

AGEING GENTLY IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

SHE is resisting the idea of a full facelift, saying she has yet to see one that looks natural.

She also denies relying on Botox, which she says she tried once but hated, and stresses that a woman in her line of work needs to be able to move her face.

‘I’m proud of my wrinkles,’ she says. ‘they give my face character. As an actress, you mess with that at your peril.’

However, she made millions from her association with Natural Advantage skin products, which she formulated with a dermatologist and sold via ‘infomercials’ in America for years.

Available by mail order, the range is now sold on QVC, some for around £40, but without her name on it. Instead, she now flogs ‘Crepe erase’ — a body cream that she says she uses on her face as a night cream as well. She said last year: ‘the best way of reversing [age] is not accelerating it. Stop it in its tracks and take care of it where it’s at. the worst things are cigarette smoking, drugs and alcohol.’

She added: ‘I’m an actress. I need to be authentic . . . I’m not against Botox and fillers but I think part of the reason I’m still working all the time at 67 is because I still look like me. It’s still my face.

‘I’m sort of gently ageing. It’s all about good skin, that’s the key to everything. I’m a bit of an artist, so I can paint out what I don’t like with some nifty use of concealer or some contouring.’

NO JUNK FOOD... BUT NO DIETS TO STAY TRIM

JANE credits isometric exercises for her enviably flat stomach. this is a form of ‘static’ exercise, like yoga or Pilates, in which a pose is held for set periods of time without contracting or lengthening the muscles.

She told an interviewer: ‘ With isometrics, you’re isolating and engaging the stomach muscles to strengthen them. I get more out of isometrics than crunches. It has given me really strong stomach muscles and I have a longer, leaner look than before.’

Naturally, she doesn’t eat junk food, either. She said in 2013 that she considered four Maltesers to be a binge — and in 2018 that if she wanted a treat, she would take a single mouthful of key lime pie and leave it at that.

‘I just have one bite and my brain and body are satisfied, knowing we aren’t on a diet but also that we didn’t miss out on a special

occasion. It’s the same way you’d have a glass of champagne instead of the whole bottle!’

Jane is thought to weigh a mere 8st 6lb. She once told an interviewer: ‘I love berries and other antioxidant-rich foods. We always have fresh fruits and vegetables grown without pesticides. I rarely eat red meat; it’s usually chicken or fish with lots of veggies. I try to keep my sodium intake low, too. Once in a while I’ll indulge but even then it’s in moderation.’

She added: ‘If I have pasta I’ll just eat half of it. I’ve tried all the diets and they are a complete waste of time for me, because any time you say, “I’m not doing this any more, I’m only doing that”, you know you’re going to fail.

‘If you’re really trying to lose weight, just cut out the carbs.’

GOING EASY ON HER BAD BACK

Jane has a history of back problems and a decade ago suffered a herniated disc that needed surgery. She started isometric exercises during her recovery.

She won’t do intense yoga now for fear of throwing her back out again, but does careful exercise in the gym three times a week.

‘My approach is cautious,’ she says. ‘I have a hot shower before I move my body at all. I get on the treadmill for between ten minutes and half an hour.’

TEEING OFF FOR A SCULPTED BOTTOM

PILATES and golf have sculpted her rear. Jane started doing Pilates in Beverly Hills in 1976 with fellow actresses Jaclyn Smith, natalie Wood and Joan Collins. ’We were all clients of the same person, who only had three machines,’ she says. She now also uses a Gyrotonic machine.

She said last year: ‘nowadays I do Pilates and light weights — and I do spinning with a trainer, also with light weights. If I can’t get to do any of that, then I’ll just lie on the ground and do planks and stomach exercises.’

She also loves wall squats, in which you line your back against the wall, place your feet hip-distance apart, then slide down until your knees are at a 90-degree angle.

She is a member of the Sherwood Country Club in thousand Oaks, California, which was laid out by golfer Jack nicklaus, and is known on the celebrity circuit as a good chipper and putter.
