All-night sittings to hit March deadline

-

THE Prime Minister will force MPs to work through the night and at weekends to ensure Brexit happens on time if she gets a deal through the Commons.

A senior source said Theresa May would expect MPs to ‘ pull out all the stops’ to ensure the March 29 deadline does not slip.

The comments are a firm rebuff to Cabinet ministers who have suggested Article 50 could be postponed to May 24. The source told the Mail: ‘The public want this done and they’ll want this done by March 29.’

It came as Parliament sat for just three hours yesterday as MPs had run out of business for the day.

With the Prime Minister in Northern Ireland, and press conferences taking place in Brussels, Westminster stalled. Jeremy Corbyn did not even take part in the weekly Prime Minister’s Questions.
