Call my mum!

Anguished cry by Holby City actor’s daughter as boyfriend filmed her on his phone while she lay dying from drug overdose at music festival

- By Josh White

THE daughter of Holby City star John Michie screamed for her parents in the hours before her boyfriend filmed her dying from drugs, jurors heard yesterday.

Ceon Broughton, 29, allegedly gave Louella Fletcher-Michie the drug 2C-P at a music festival then recorded her in secluded woodland where she was found dead hours later.

In a harrowing 50-minute video shown to jurors yesterday, Miss Fletcher-Michie, 24, shouts out: ‘This is the best trip I have ever f****** had.’

But, as her condition deteriorated, Broughton, who is charged with manslaughter, ignored pleas from her family to seek help and kept filming even after she died, Winchester Crown Court heard.

In the clip shown to the court, recorded at about 5.53pm, Miss Fletcher-Michie said: ‘My mum and dad, my brother and sister, I love you lot.’ She repeatedly shouted at Broughton to ‘film me’, ‘call my mum’ and ‘call my brother, call my sister’.

Broughton appeared to be smiling and relaxed as he turned the camera on himself and told Miss Fletcher-Michie: ‘It’s between me and you.’

He also told her to put her phone away and disable calls and messaging when she said she wanted to contact her mother.

She was seen in the video stumbling around the wooded area, on the fringe of the Bestival site in Dorset. At several points she shouted ‘ dad I love you’ and ‘mum I love you, mum, I had a good trip. Dad I love you’.

In the clips shown to the court, Miss Fletcher-Michie appeared to be so confused she was trying to eat brambles and nettles, as well as hitting and slapping herself. She called for her mother around 80 times in a series of incoherent rants.

She also told Broughton to ‘make sure this goes on YouTube’ before appearing to change her mind and cursing various social media companies.

Ezra Campbell, a friend of the couple, said he tried to arrange medical help when he heard Miss Fletcher-Michie screaming in the background during a call to Broughton. But he said he could not locate the pair.

He said Broughton encouraged him to tell Miss Fletcher-Michie’s mother not to bother coming to look for her daughter – a message he refused to pass on.

Jurors were told that her mother, former Hot Gossip dancer Carol Fletcher, eventually contacted Broughton at 6.48pm and heard her daughter ‘screeching’ in the background.

Yesterday, the court was also shown grisly ‘ live’ iPhone images, apparently of the young dancer and yoga teacher’s last moments. In a selfie, Broughton was seen smiling with a child’s fidget spinner device. Pictures taken at 10.41pm show her bloodied hands, while others taken at 11.24pm and 11.25pm show her lying lifeless.

Miss Fletcher ‘dropped everything’ and travelled to the festival site with Mr Michie, who plays surgeon Guy Self in Holby. They arrived just after their daughter’s death.

Broughton, of Enfield, north London, has already admitted supplying class A drugs in relation to giving 2C- P to Miss Fletcher-Michie and a friend at Glastonbury Festival in June 2017. He denies manslaughter and supplying her the same drug at Bestival in September that year. The trial continues.
