Emoji’s a little insult to men

THEY are used to convey everything from laughter to tears.

However, a controversial new emoji ( right) which shows two fingers pinched together is said to be a mocking reference to a key part of the male anatomy. It has divided opinion on social media. One man wrote: ‘An emoji I can use to imply that an Internet stranger has a small penis – 2019 may not be so bad after all.’

However, another user called the update ‘shallow’. Others pointed out that similar allusions to women’s bodies would not be allowed. It is one of 270 emojis unveiled in this year’s Emojipedia list by Apple.
