AMBITIOUS Cabinet minister Liz Truss hosted a reception for women entrepreneurs at 11 Downing Street this week, and one male official managed to fall foul of the sisterhood.

‘The highlight for me was seeing Trinny Woodall nobble some government official who made a big deal of introducing Liz Truss in a really patronising way,’ her fellow guest Emma Sayle tells me. ‘He called her the first female Treasury Secretary, with the emphasis on the word “female”. It was really cringe. Everybody sort of sighed, and Trinny just said: “Right!” She made a beeline to accost him afterwards and told him off. I said to her: “Well done, you.” She doesn’t take any prisoners.’
