YOU HAVE YOUR SAY

EVERY week, Money Mail receives hundreds of your letters and emails about our stories. Here are some from our article about how slow broadband can cut up to 20 pc off the value of your home . . .

IF YOU live in a village with lovely views, can you really complain about broadband? I get a fast 78 megabits per second (Mbps) but, then again, I look out of my window and see rows of houses, rather than lush fields. M. I., Sheffield, South Yorks.

ONE of the readers in the article pays £28 a month for his slow broadband. I pay £17 a month, including line rental, and get 14.5 Mbps. If he’s paying £28 just for internet, he is being conned. P. F., by email.

WHEN house-hunting, our initial checks were: floorplan, crime rate and utility provision, including internet speed. We ruled out entire areas if the broadband was slow with no upgrades planned. S. T., London.

THE firm that owns our phone wires is refusing to upgrade a cabinet near us. Houses across town get 200 Mbps, while we get just 2 Mbps. It makes no sense. F. P., Norfolk.

WE ARE at our wits’ end with our broadband: 0.3 Mbps at worst and 1.5 Mbps at best. We’ve had 14 engineers round to assess the situation since last October. C. L., Kentchurch, Hereford.

I LOVE downloading TV. I’d always check speeds if I moved, as I’d never want to live somewhere with slow broadband. L. T., Luton.
