PICK OF THE DAY
THE REAL MARIGOLD ON TOUR, 9PM, BBC1
THE golden oldies return for a new series, travelling the world to sample retirement in a variety of countries. In the first episode, unlikely new chums Bobby George and Stanley Johnson are joined by Miriam Margolyes and Sheila Ferguson (all pictured) — hilariously, Stanley thinks Sheila used to be the lead singer of the Bee Gees rather than the Three Degrees. Their destination is Russia, beginning in St Petersburg, where they receive a warm welcome — even though Miriam is keen to tell everyone she meets how much she hates President Putin — before they head off to a sanatorium in the countryside, where there are some unusual treatments to be endured.
