William returns to Diana shelter

-

PRINCE William helped prepare food at a homeless shelter yesterday – 26 years after his first visit to the venue with his mother and brother.

William has become royal patron of The Passage, which looks after 3,200 people a year and serves 150 lunches every day. To mark the occasion, a rarely seen picture of an 11year-old William, Harry and their mother at the centre in 1993 was released.

Diana would often take her sons on secret visits to meet and help their homeless.

Yesterday William chopped carrots at the charity’s St Vincent’s Centre in Westminster before handing out plates of spaghetti bolognese to homeless clients.

Chief executive Mick Clarke said the charity was thinking of bringing out a cookbook, to which William said: ‘You don’t want any of my recipes. They are not very healthy either – a few burgers and pizzas.’
