Insult to injury

-

THE allegations against Sir Philip Green in relation to sexual harassment expose the gulf between the financial redress awarded to those who have been slighted by words or deeds, and those who have suffered physical injuries.

My wife suffered a lifechanging injury at work due to negligence by her employer. We had to fight for years before she was awarded a small sum to cover the loss of her career, her injuries and the fact that she will spend the rest of her life in pain.

In contrast, one of Sir Philip Green’s alleged victims was paid a million pounds for having her bottom slapped and being kissed.

My wife’s injuries took away her successful career and are about to cost us our house over an accrued debt of less than £10,000.

It is time for a thorough review and overhaul of how justice is applied. ROBERT JONES, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
