Gone to blazes

WEST Midlands Fire Service relaxing the entry tests for women and minority groups reminded me of when I was discharged from the Coldstream Guards as a 6ft, fit as a fiddle 22-year-old.

I applied to be a policeman, but failed because of a few spelling mistakes.

I am amazed that entry qualifications have been lowered not only for the minimum height, but also for the written entry test, to keep the discrimination lobbies happy. Where will the stupidity end?
