I WAS ‘A PRAT’ TO BET ON MY OWN TEAM, SAYS FRY
BARRY FRY interrupted his own misconduct hearing to declare he had ‘been a prat’. In January, the Peterborough director was fined £35,000 and banned from football for a month, with three suspended, for betting on one of the club’s strikers, Jack Marriott, to be League One top goalscorer and Posh to be promoted. However, the hearing found no evidence of any attempt by Fry to make personal gain, as he gave his winnings to the club.
