I knew the difference between good and bad. I knew what was right, what was wrong and what was downright evil. I bet you did, too. When she left the UK to join Isis, Shamima Begum could not have been unaware of its reputation, or the beheadings, the kidnappings, the savagery and the bombings. Yet she still went. And now she wants to come back. What really chills my blood about Shamima is her offhand remark that seeing a human head in a rubbish bin ‘did not faze [her]’. Brainwashed or not, how incorrigibly evil do you have to be to think like that? If she is allowed back here (and she probably will be), she will have to pay some pretty hard dues (but she probably won’t).
