Morrisons in pay fight
THOUSANDS of female workers are threatening to sue Morrisons over claims they are paid less than men in the same job.
Law firms Roscoe Reid and Leigh Day are taking cases to court and employment tribunals, and claim staff are entitled to an average £15,000 each.
Rival Asda is appealing against an equal pay battle it lost. Ellie Pinnells, at Roscoe Reid, said: ‘There is a clear case female roles have been underpaid.’
Morrisons said: ‘ We believe we pay our colleagues fairly and equally for the job that they do, irrespective of their gender, and we will be defending this claim.’
