THERE’S NO PROBLEM FOR PERCY

- MARCUS TOWNEND

The owner of Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy says they might head straight to the Festival after missing today’s prep race.

The gelding was expected to run in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park but Philip Reynolds said his absence is no cause for alarm. he said: ‘All is good with Percy. (Trainer) Pat Kelly is just happy with where he is and didn’t feel we needed to run him this weekend.’

Reynolds added that the horse, which won over hurdles last month on his only start this season, could run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse next week. Mick Channon trained Glen Forsa has the Arkle and JLT Novices’ Chases as Festival options after beating Kalashnikov in the Kingmaker Novices’ Chase at Sandown.
