SPOT ON FOR SPRING

- EMILY MONCKTON

GONE are the days of minimalism — we’re living through a print renaissance. And now it is the turn of the beloved polka dot, with its air of old-school femininity, to stage a comeback. From Max Mara’s puff-sleeve dresses to Kenzo’s dotty tights, polka dots are dancing all over the place. The High Street, too, is awhirl with the ditsy print. In addition to the usual monochrome, spots are coming in cheerful reds, greens and blues, too (the Duchess of Cambridge recently turned heads in a blue polka dot Alessandra Rich dress). Don’t be afraid to clash your spots by teaming a dotty skirt with a polka neckerchief. Or, if you’re less brave, try pairing a printed pussy-bow blouse with spotty statement earrings.
