BRITISH BORN
A Very British History: The First Black Brummies, 9pm, BBC4
THE poet Sue Brown’s parents came over from Jamaica in the Fifties; she was born in Birmingham in 1961. Her account of growing up there is an eye-opening exploration of the culture shock that unfolded on both sides of the racial divide, and Brown (pictured with Bishop Joe Aldred) tells it all with great warmth and insight.
