Cancer group to float

a CanCEr therapy centre company backed by neil Woodford is plotting a £320m float.

South Wales-based Proton Partners will aim to raise £50m via junior market nex Exchange, it is understood.

Woodford has previously invested in it, and holds shares in the company.

Proton Partners financed construction of the UK’s first centres offering proton beam therapy, where particles found in atoms are fired at tumours to shrink them.

The company has centres in reading, northumberland and newport, South Wales, with another planned in Liverpool.

its float could be a welcome source of cash for Woodford, who has had a string of setbacks recently.
