Lukaku must take big chance to impress

- CHRIS SUTTON

WHEN Manchester United went 2-0 down to Paris Saint-Germain after an hour at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer waited until the 84th minute to bring his £75million striker on. Romelu Lukaku’s days at United have looked numbered under Solskjaer. The interim boss should be given the job permanently as far as I’m concerned and he doesn’t seem to fancy the 6ft 3in Belgian. Tonight, though, with United hindered by injuries to Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard, we should see Lukaku start against his former club. What a big night this is for him. He has to take his chance to impress and gain confidence ahead of a seasondefining few weeks for the club. In the space of the next month, United face Chelsea in the FA Cup, Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League, and PSG away in the second leg of the Champions League. This is a big game for Chelsea, too. If they don’t win, even more questions will be asked of manager Maurizio Sarri. Jorginho seems to bear the brunt of criticism whenever they are beaten because ‘Sarri-ball’ revolves around the midfielder, but there are 10 other players on the pitch. Jorginho isn’t the only problem.
