CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND

-

SHEFFIELD UNITED manager Chris Wilder rested his first-choice strike partnership of Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick yet still saw his side hammer READING 4-0 to move second. The pair have scored 33 league goals between them this season but this was on-loan Gary Madine’s time to shine as he netted twice to put United ahead of Leeds on goal difference. They are two points behind leaders NORWICH who thrashed BOLTON 4-0 with Teemu Pukki adding another two goals to his collection. Pukki’s tally of 23 league goals this season is more than the Bolton team combined.

WEST BROM are still in the automatic promotion hunt after two goals in four minutes — from Hal Robson-Kanu and Jay Rodriguez — defeated their toothless local rivals ASTON VILLA.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY snatched a point at local rivals ROTHERHAM in the 10th minute of stoppage time when debutant Dominic Iorfa prodded home in a scramble.
