MARTINM CLUNES: ISLANDS O OF AMERICA, 9PM, ITV
PUERTO th PPt third-largest RICO, island America’s — a and the only one where SSl Spanish is the main la language — is Martin’s nnt next stop on his delightful t tour. There, he looks very u uncomfortable when he tr tries salsa dancing, but hi his reward is a glass of the local speciality, the pina colada. Even more fascinating is his trip to the Sea Islands, off Georgia, which are home to the Gullah Geechee people (pictured). Direct descendants of slaves, they are keen to keep their African heritage alive. He completes his tour on the quiet island backwater of Chincoteague, off the coast of Virginia, where he attends the world famous annual event known as the Pony Swim.
