Mail’s 21 nominations for Press Oscars
THE Daily Mail has secured 1 nominations in the prestigious annual Press Awards – considered the Oscars of the journalism world – including one for Newspaper of the Year.
Jan Moir, Chrissy Iley and Rebecca Hardy are all in the running for Interviewer of the Year, while Sarah Vine and Dominic Lawson have both been nominated as Columnist of the Year.
Judges have also shortlisted the Mail’s Stop The Gambling Predators campaign for the prestigious Cudlipp Award. Richard Pendlebury is nominated as Feature Writer of the Year, while Jonathan Pugh has been shortlisted as Cartoonist of the Year. Graham Chadwick and Andy Hooper are both in the running for Sports Photographer of the Year, while Matt Lawton has been shortlisted twice – as Sports Journalist of the Year and for Sports News Story of the Year.
Science Correspondent Victoria Allen and Investigations Editor Tom Kelly are also double nominees – as Science Journalists of the Year, and for Investigation of the Year. Defence and Security Editor Larisa Brown is nominated as Foreign Reporter of the Year, and Health Editor Sophie Borland is in the running for Health Journalist of the Year. Investigations Reporter Tom Payne has been shortlisted as Young Journalist of the Year, while Investigations Reporter Sian Boyle has secured a nomination as News Reporter of the Year.
The Daily Mail is also in the running for Supplement of the Year for its hugely popular Femail section, and for Front Page of the Year – after Emine Sinmaz revealed to the world an image of Jeremy Corbyn holding a wreath feet from the graves of members of the terror group behind the Munich massacre.
