First Group strike woe
TrANSPOrT giant First Group has admitted providing a ‘disappointing’ service amid strike action on South Western railway.
The group said like-forlike rail passenger revenue growth slowed to 4.2pc between September and January as infrastructure challenges added to disruption from an industrial dispute. The revenue growth marks a slowdown on the 5.5pc reported for the first six months, excluding SWr. Strike action was recently suspended on SWr after the rMT union said there had been a breakthrough, following a series of strikes affecting some of the busiest services in the country.
Members had been due to walk out this coming Friday and on March 9 and 16.
