Ladies who brunch – and make a difference!

-

LOOKING for the perfect reason to get your friends together? Then consider hosting a charity brunch – and do some good for women facing difficult times while you catch up over coffee.

On March 3, women across the country will meet for brunch to support charities helping some of the poorest women and girls in Britain — those who experience ‘period poverty’ in which they cannot afford to buy sanitary products each month.

It might sound hard to imagine for many of us, but research has found that more than a quarter of women and girls in the UK have been affected.

In Scotland, the government has started to give free products to those in need.

The brunches will help the work of organisations such as charity Freedom4Girls, which gives out products for free to young women who need them in schools, colleges and universities across the country.
