JUST AN INCH OR TWO OF SKIN
THE over-the-knee boot is known as the hardest style to wear, especially when you’re no longer in your 20s, but in fact there’s no reason to be scared of it. However, you do need to be brave and wear a mini-length skirt or dress. Pick one that leaves just a tiny flash of skin visible between the top of the boot and the hem — an inch or two is just enough. Avoid shiny fabrics, as this can look a little cheap — you don’t want to have a Pretty Woman moment! Suede and black leather are classics for a reason, or try brown or charcoal grey for a softer look. If your pins aren’t as toned as those of Emma Stone (right), add black tights to make the look sexy without revealing too much. Keep things covered up elsewhere, too — try a top or a simple round-neck dress, and layer with a chic jacket.
