ST PETER’S in Nowton, Suffolk, dates back to 12th century. It’s neat and plain, but inside its quiet exterior are some beautiful medieval Flemish stained-glass windows. On this week’s RAMBLINGS (RADIO 4, 3PM), Clare Balding, in the company of David Bradbury and members of his family, looks into the church on a circular walk that starts in Sicklemere. Along the way, they find a totem pole, and argue as to whether the view includes hills — or just gentle Suffolk slopes.

DAVID BOWIE recorded Kurt Weill’s Moon Of Alabama in 1978, finding himself drawn to the jagged rhythms and the despairing decadence of the lyrics. Bowie fell under the influence of Weill, the composer best-known for his prewar collaborations with playwright Bertolt Brecht, during his years in

Berlin. As part of the 6 Music Celebrates Berlin season, MARC RILEY (BBC 6 MUSIC, 7PM) looks at Weill’s influence on Bowie and other artistes.
