Lift pops up like a Tardis!

-

SUSAN ( above) and Sandy Phillips are delighted with their new home lift. Sandy says: ‘My wife and I come from an interior design background and both love the way it looks.

‘It’s very stylish and pops up in the middle of the living room like Dr Who’s Tardis. There is no question that it will also add value to our property.’

The couple had a wheelchairfriendly model fitted to their home in Stirling, Scotland, to help Susan maintain independence after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

This kind of lift has proved ideal as it is self-supporting, so no load-bearing walls are required. And it was within their budget.

It is also non-hydraulic and plugs straight into a standard domestic power socket, so was quick and easy to install.

The only structural work required was an opening in the ceiling to allow the lift to pass between floors. The couple had the lift installed in a cupboard in their downstairs hall, travelling up to the first-floor living room.

Sandy says: ‘It has given Susan back her independence, as she can now move around the home unaided.

‘The lift is absolutely incredible and so easy to use. We’d recommend it to anyone.’
