Parents neglect kids’ check-ups

-

MOST parents are neglecting to take their young children to the dentist, figures reveal.

Experts say children should have their teeth checked at least once a year after their first teeth appear.

Yet 58 per cent of those aged one to four did not see a dentist in 2018, according to NHS Digital.

Professor Michael Escudier, dean of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, said a child’s first interactions with a dentist should be for simple checkups instead of serious treatment.
