‘Delusional’ Theresa has problem on immigration, says Soubry
ANNA Soubry has launched an extraordinary attack on the Prime Minister, accusing her of being ‘delusional’ and having a ‘problem’ with immigration.
The former Tory MP said: ‘I think she’s in a bad place. That’s the truth of it. I think she is absolutely delusional about the situation that she and the country is in.’
She also claimed: ‘The only reason why she will not agree to the single market is because of free movement of people.
‘She has history in the Home Office that supports this... I think she’s got a problem with immigration. I really, honestly do.’
Asked whether she thought Mrs May would put her country before her party, she said: ‘I’m not sure she would... that’s what worries me about her. That’s one of the reasons I quit.’ But Miss Soubry
faced a backlash while hosting a radio phone-in on LBC yesterday. A man called Neil, from her Broxtowe constituency, said: ‘Madam, people like you disgust me. You’re out to derail Brexit. You’re being duplicitous. You’re being two-faced.’
Another constituent, named John, said: ‘I can’t put into words what you’ve done. You’ve been rude to all your constituents.
‘Why would I vote for a lady who is not genuine and doesn’t believe in democracy? Early retirement is the best way forward for you.’
Tory MP Nadine Dorries also called for Miss Soubry and fellow Tory dissenters to face a by-election, saying: ‘If I felt that I no longer shared the values of my colleagues and people who voted for me, I would stand down and call a by-election.
‘Not one of the “three amigos” holds a shred of principle between them and are now political takers and imposters.’
‘Not one of their constituents voted for independent representation in the 2017 election, they voted Conservative.’
She added: ‘Enough of people saying they would be welcome back – this is a lie. Soubry called the PM a racist. Allen said she wants to destroy the party. They are fundamentalists [and] democracy deniers with incredibly inflated opinions of their own ability.’
