Who drove Honda away?

-

I WAS not surprised when Honda said it was closing its factory in Swindon. It’s a business and goes where it can get the best deal.

It came to the UK because of our cheap labour market and soft Labour laws. The UK was cheap and an easy way into the EU.

Then came the misdirection from the Government telling car manufacturers that diesel is green. It changed its mind and wanted electric cars.

The Government has ignored warnings from manufacturers about their fears of Brexit chaos,

and the EU pounced on a deal with Japan. Put yourself in Honda’s shoes: what would you do? Why couldn’t Westminster see this coming?

J. RUSSELL, Wokingham, Berks. NOW a factory is available, how about producing an electric car at Swindon? GEOFF NEAUM, Heydon, Cambs.
