Lumley pours it on for caring Charles

SEEKING to assuage concerns that he would be a ‘meddling’ monarch, Prince Charles claimed last year: ‘ I’m not that stupid.’

Now he can count Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley among his allies.

‘He gets it in the neck for voicing his opinions, but he wants to make this world a better place and that to me is admirable,’ she declares.

‘What really impressed me is his genuine and absolute care, not just for the earth but for people — especially kids who fall through the cracks.’

Lumley has made no secret of her special relationship with the heir to the throne.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to get to know him offduty over the years, and I believe him to be a man of great thought and wisdom,’ she adds. ‘I think Charles will make a very good king.’

Perhaps now she will be rewarded with a damehood.
