BAGGING a bargain is one thing. Keeping your car’s value to avoid a hefty loss when you sell it is another.

But independent pricing experts at cap hpi say the new ‘baby’ Range Rover Evoque (pictured), from £31,600 for the entry-level D150 FWD (with monthly deals from £245 a month after a £7,500 deposit) will enjoy class-leading residual value when deliveries begin in spring.

After three years or 36,000 miles, it will retain 63 per cent of its value on average, with the best-performing variant, the R-Dynamic S P250 at £41,350, keeping 67.4 per cent of its value.

NOT all prices go down. Porsche has warned those who have already ordered that they face paying 10 per cent more if a ‘hard’ Brexit leads to an increased import duty after March 29. The 718 Cayman, its cheapest car, would be £48,481, up from £44,074.
